Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman now advances new predictions about the future of Apple, a company that should continue to be led by Tim Cook, current CEO, until 2025. The US executive, now 61, was chosen by Steve Jobs.
Cook has led the Cupertino company since 2009, although he ceded the leadership to Jobs for a brief period until, in August 2011, the portfolio fell only to him. Its course is brilliant, but it will still have room for another great launch.
Tim Cook will continue to lead
Apple's designs through 2025
Tim Cook, current CEO of US-based Apple.
Gurman also points out that in 2025 Tim Cook should raise
more than 740 million dollars, about 635 million euros, from the sale of one
million shares of Apple. This action should mark the end of his leadership, a
purely conjectural scenario.
Still, the journalist dedicated to Apple's designs believes
that the current CEO will not relinquish his position anytime soon. Indeed, it
will be at Cook's hand that Apple will introduce the next "revolutionary
product", Cook's "one more thing".
Also according to this source, said revolutionary product may consist of Apple Glass, Cupertino's augmented reality glasses. In themselves, they would add the capabilities of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR), being an evolution over Google Glass, a paradigmatic product in this category of gadgets.
We look forward to "one more
thing" at Apple under the leadership of Tim Cook
The thesis put forward now by Mark Gurman is not without
criticism, however. The opposing voices reject the "why" of such a sudden
change in CEO, even though this may not happen until 2025, or even 2028.
In any case, we will be facing the beginning of the end of
the Cook era, with the executive also working on his legacy. At the same time,
Cook makes sure that Apple continues to grow, cementing its position and market
value.
Now, who will be able to fill the chair of Steve Jobs and
currently Tim Cook? Some of the most popular names, especially for those who
watch apple keynotes and presentations, include Craig Federighi, a high-level
executive at Apple.
On the other hand, there are also other big names like
Deirdre O'Brien, or Johny Srouji, Eddy Cue, as well as the current COO, Jeff
Williams. Note, however, that the current COO is roughly the same age as Cook
so may not be the ideal choice.
Apple has had a total of 5 CEO's
since 1983
Along with Steve Jobs
and Tim Cook, Apple has had three other CEO's since its inception. Among these
are names like John Sculley, who would historically end up firing Jobs, until
he was replaced by Michael Spindler and, later, by Gil Amelio.
Nevertheless, it would be Jobs who would transform the Apple
he had helped create with Wozniak several years earlier. It was this widely
profitable and visionary "new Apple" that Jobs would leave Cook in
August 2011. Indeed, Cook inherited an already booming company thanks to the
iPhone, MacBook, iPad, iMac and of course the iPod.
In summary, we have
another great Apple product to be launched in the "Tim Cook Era".
However, who could be the best successor to the current CEO?
